It's good to finally be home with the noisy kids after a long stressful session of Final Year Project.

Roll 8: Fujichrome Provia 400x (Slide film)
Thursday, October 11, 2012 11:41 PM

Before I start, allow me to show off my new baby,
the Holga 135BC. It’s light(but not as light and
slim as my BSD) but fat. Convenience to bring
around? I’d rate it moderate. I bought the camera
and hand strap Thirty-six, with an additional
Wide angle lens (from Peek!)

20121010_010337

The images turned out exactly like what the other
forums have warned me:

1. Aim higher. Otherwise, the images get cropped
off.

2. It feeds a lot on light. I make sure that I
shoot on a bright sunny day. Otherwise, it’d be
underexposed. But then again, there’s the ‘B’
setting, so no worries. Pictures below will explain
further.

Camera: Holga 135BC
Film: Fujichrome Provia 400x (cross process)

This turned out quite well. Held a app. 1m
away with my Holga 15B flash. (arm’s length)

Cropped off faces. Need to aim higher.

I took this before doing my research. It’s
an overcast day. Shot taken from indoors
window. Taken in ‘B’ mode for nearly 8 seconds.
Holy cow, that’s overexposed!

Underexposed ):

Some double exposure shots (:

The BC (Black Corner) effect under bright
lighting turned out pretty well too (:

Well…maybe accept for this one below. It’s
taken indoors on ‘B’ mode with no sunlight
seeping in.

F1000024

I quite like this one, if not for my ‘accidental’
double exposure with red flash. Otherwise,
the scene @ Thieves Street would have looked
nice.According to forums, Cross processed
pictures usually surprise you with high
saturation/colour shifts.

Supreme Black Corner. Hah!

F1000029

A bunch of bikers. I had to be fast with this
shot. I realised I was on ‘1 PERSON MODE’
when this scene was at least a good 6 meter
away. But it turned out well ,regardless.

Overall, I had fun with this little fat
toy camera. I was worried that I’d waste my
money on the first film (being a pro film
and all) since I’m not familiar with the
camera yet. But the results where rather pleasing.
Love. the colours.

Roll 7: Kodak Ektar 100
Thursday, October 4, 2012 2:58 AM

I was squirming with anticipation on how

the new film turned out. I bought two
films the other day:

1. Kodak Ektar 100

2. Fujifilm Provia 400x

I can’t tell you how much I love this film.

For easy comparison, let me show you the exact

building with the exact same camera and lighting.

Above : KODAK ULTRAMAX 400.

Below : Kodak Ektar 100

Slightly shady results in this mysterious
dark purplish colour.

On the brighter side of the building suggests
a slight red-ish tint. It’s perfect for an
old building like this (:

Some other photos in ultra sunny condition.

Love this. Love the saturated blue sky.
I couldn’t reallu achieve this with the
Kodak UltraMax 400

Blue and red
always go well together in a photo.

More blue awesomeness (:

This was accidental discovery. My BSD doesn’t
have pressure plates like other cameras (LC-A
/ Holga etc) It doesn’t allow Multiple Exposure
either. I was rewinding my film halfway after
shooting the final exposure, and decided to
take a shot for the fun of it. This was a
pleasant surprise
(:

It wasn’t well-composed though ):

The entire film consists of the daily images
during my internship. The places nearby,

the walk to Tanjong Pagar, Maxwell…etc during

lunch.

All in all, I really enjoyed this film.

It’s a ISO 100 film, so it has to be shot

in a super bright day, otherwise, the

photos will become underexposed.I was lucky

to get all the images out (:
